Last but by no means least, we’d like to introduce you to our Chairman, Wayne Boyd. Wayne has an impressive career history, and brings an enormous amount of experience, drive and commitment to the Trust.
The past five years Wayne has been retired and involved in the Not For Profit (Public Good) space. In addition to his role as Chair of the NZSAS Trust he is Chair of the Halberg Disability Sports Foundation and a Council member of the Neurological Foundation.
Wayne‘s working life had three phases – lawyer, investment banker and professional director. During a period of twenty years in the final phase he accumulated extensive boardroom experience. He acted as a director and often Chair of public and private companies, Government controlled entities and Iwi controlled commercial entities. In 2012 Wayne was made a Distinguished Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Directors. (This is awarded to members who have sustained a distinguished career as a director; or who have given outstanding participation and services to the Institute of Directors).
Wayne was actively involved in hockey for more than forty years as a player, coach, manager and administrator. He served as a board member and Chair of the NZ Hockey Federation. A foundation trustee of the Waikato Sports Trust he continues to maintain interest in a wide range of sports.
Married to Annie they have a blended family of four children and five grandchildren.
